Your Support Helps Us Continue Our Good Work

In challenging times, we are grander together.

With the uncertainty in our world, it is imperative now more than ever that we join together as a foundation of strength for each other. Please consider a donation today.
Our Federation may be closed, but nonetheless, we are still working. Working to support our community.

SHARING HA’ATZMAUT JOY WITH OUR FRIENDS AT GREATER WATERBURY INTERFAITH MINISTRIES

The Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut recently connected with Greater Waterbury Interfaith Ministries to share in celebration of Israel’s 73rd Independence Day.

The Federation showed its support of GWIM’s community work feeding the hungry and empowering the homeless and underprivileged to become self-sufficient by arranging for 10 dozen cupcakes to be baked and delivered to GWIM by Sweet Maria’s bakery owner, Maria Sanchez, on Friday, April 16.

The Federation also noted National Volunteer Appreciation Month by commending the efforts of GWIM volunteer Michael Keating and his nonprofit, Step by Step, which collects bottles and cans for recycling and donates the proceeds to food banks and shelters in the Waterbury area.

“Although the Federation’s principal focus is the Jewish community, we know Judaism also requires that we work hard to improve the world for everyone,” said Gary Jones, executive director of the Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut. “We thank GWIM, Michael and all others who do so much to help our community.”

Our Community Needs You

Because of you, a family will appreciate a hot meal, someone will learn how to better handle the loss of a loved one, or a teen will be able to attend a Jewish overnight summer camp. Many people contact Brownstein Jewish Family Service (JFS) in times of crisis or when they feel there is nowhere else to turn. Your gift will help JFS continue serving those in need throughout the region.

Your donation helps us support these individuals when they need it the most. Be it through providing winter clothes to young children, delivering Chanukah gift baskets to isolated seniors, connecting families through various activities or helping someone obtain housing, your donation truly makes a difference.

Your gifts and donations helps us to continue programming to support Jewish culture and education and allow us to continue our good work in the community- locally, in Israel and around the world.
